About Mario Kart Tour
Mario Kart Tour brings the famous kart racing series to mobile, with cartoonish tracks, familiar characters and the colourful chaos that fans expect. You race against seven opponents on courses inspired by real cities and classic circuits, using items such as shells and bananas to slow down rivals and defend your lead.
The controls are simple. The kart accelerates automatically, so you swipe left and right to steer, and you drift by holding the screen through a turn. Items are collected from boxes along the track and used with a tap or a swipe. Because the focus is on short, exciting races, the game feels more like a quick arcade experience than a full console title.
A distinctive feature is the scoring system. Instead of only caring about your finishing position, the game awards points for actions such as drifting, collecting coins and hitting opponents with items. Matching your driver, kart and glider to the course gives a bonus, so building a collection of favourites matters. Races are organised into themed tours that change every two weeks, bringing new tracks and characters.
Beginners should learn how drifting works, as longer drifts give a speed boost.
Using items wisely is another key skill. Holding a shell behind you can protect you from attacks, and saving a boost for the final straight often gains a place. Practising on the same course a few times helps you learn where the best lines and shortcuts are, which can make a big difference in the scores.
The game is free with ads and optional purchases, including a gacha-style system that offers random drivers and karts. Parents should be aware of this and may wish to set spending limits. An internet connection is required for most features, and the game is best played in short sessions between other activities.
If you enjoy colourful, quick kart racing with a competitive twist, it offers plenty to try.
Seasonal tours often borrow themes from real cities, so a race can feel like a quick holiday through bright streets and landmarks. That variety keeps the game feeling lively even when the basic rules stay the same.
Over several weeks, you can gradually build a collection and see which combinations suit you best. Many players pick a favourite driver and get to know that character's skills, which makes each race feel personal.
