About Spider Solitaire: Card Games
Spider Solitaire is a card game that asks more of you than the classic version. Instead of building four suit piles from the aces up, you arrange cards in descending order from king to ace in the same suit, and each completed run is removed from the table. Clear all the columns, and you win.
The game is played with two decks, and you choose how many suits to use. With one suit, the game is fairly gentle, and most deals can be won. With two suits, you need more care, and with four suits, even experienced players lose more often than they win. That choice lets you match the difficulty to your mood.
The layout has ten columns of cards, with the top card of each column face up. You can move a card or a run of cards onto another card that is one rank higher, regardless of suit, but only runs of the same suit can be moved together. When you run out of moves, you deal a new row from the stock, which places one card on every column. This is why empty columns are valuable, since a dealing cannot be done until each column has at least one card.
Good strategy involves uncovering hidden cards early, building runs in the same suit whenever possible and avoiding unnecessary mixed-suit moves. Try to create an empty column, since it provides flexibility. Use undo carefully, and think before dealing a new row. The app offers hints, an auto-complete option and statistics that track your win rate.
Many players enjoy the way the game scales with experience. You can start with one suit, learn the patterns and later move up to two or four. The app works offline, which suits journeys and quiet evenings, and the clean layout and customisable card styles make long sessions comfortable and easy on the eyes.
If you are new, it helps to think of each deal as a puzzle with several possible solutions. Take a moment before every move and ask which choice reveals the most hidden cards. With practice, you will notice how often a patient plan beats a quick move, and your win rate will rise steadily.
Looking for the genuine Spider Solitaire: Card Games app? If you enjoy solitaire but want something a little more demanding, this variation offers plenty of depth.
