About Block Puzzle
Block Puzzle is a classic, no-frills puzzle in which coloured shapes drop onto an eight-by-eight board and you try to keep it tidy. You drag three pieces at a time into the grid, and when you complete a row or a column, it vanishes and adds to your score. There are no falling pieces or rotating shapes, so the only pressure comes from the space you leave yourself.
That simplicity is exactly why it lasts. A well-played game feels like a small act of tidying, because every piece you place should leave the board a little neater than before. A bad placement, on the other hand, quickly causes a cluttered board that no piece fits, and the game ends. Learning to look at the three pieces together, and to plan where each will go, is the main skill.
Combos give the game a little excitement. Clearing several lines at once, or clearing lines on successive turns, multiplies your points, so patient players deliberately build up several nearly full lines and then clear them together with a single long piece. This is risky but rewarding, and it shows why the same simple rules can produce wildly different scores.
The game works offline and has a relaxed, jewel-toned look.
If you are new, keep the middle of the board open and fill from the edges. Avoid scattering single blocks in different corners, because they are hard to clear later. When an awkward shape appears, look for the place where it blocks the least rather than the place where it scores the most, and accept a small loss to avoid a big one.
Sessions can be very short, which is why the game is popular for queues and breaks. Some players like to set a personal goal, such as beating yesterday's best, which gives each short session a small purpose. It is free with ads, and there is an optional purchase to remove them for people who prefer uninterrupted play.
Players who want to improve can track their best scores and notice how placement habits change results. After a few weeks, spotting where long pieces will fit becomes automatic, and games that once ended in minutes can last for half an hour.
If you enjoy quiet, simple puzzles that reward planning, it is an easy game to keep on your phone.
