About Plants vs Zombies™ 2
Plants vs. Zombies 2 is a tower defence game with a sense of humour. A crazy neighbour called Dave has a time-travelling van, and together you visit different eras, from ancient Egypt to a pirate sea to the Wild West, defending your house from zombies who are always hungry for brains. You place plants on a lawn, and the plants shoot, block or explode to stop the zombies from reaching your house.
The basics are easy to learn. You collect sun, which falls from the sky or is produced by sunflowers, and you spend it to plant defenders. Peashooters fire peas at approaching zombies, wall-nuts act as barriers, and cherry bombs clear a group at once. Different zombies require different tactics. Some wear buckets, some pole-vault over plants and some dance, so you must adapt as new types arrive.
Each world has its own rules and plants. In ancient Egypt, you meet sarcophagus zombies and unique plants like the bloomerang. In the pirate world, planks on the lawn limit where you can place your plants. These twists keep the game fresh for a long time, and the variety of plants allows many different strategies. Experimenting with combinations is half the fun.
If you are new, build your sun economy first by planting several sunflowers early, then add attackers in each lane. Place wall-nuts in front of strong plants to protect them. Pay attention to the preview of zombie types at the start of a level and choose plants that match. Using plant food, the special boost, at the right moment can rescue a difficult wave.
The game is free to play, but contains ads and optional purchases, and some plants and boosts are locked behind premium currency. Players who prefer not to spend can still enjoy most of the content, though some levels may require patience. It works offline for many modes and is suitable for all ages, as the style is cartoonish.
One more thing worth mentioning is that the game rewards trying new plants. It is tempting to rely on your favourites, but each new plant opens different strategies, and some levels are designed around specific choices. Revisiting earlier worlds with stronger plants is also a fun way to earn extra rewards without much risk.
Plants vs. If you like strategy games that are clever, colourful and funny, it is a rewarding game that you can enjoy in short sessions or longer evenings.
