About Bloons TD 6
Bloons TD 6 is a tower defence game with a cheerful premise and a surprisingly serious depth. Waves of coloured balloons, called bloons, float along a track toward the exit, and you must stop them by placing monkey towers along the way. Each tower throws darts, shoots bombs, freezes bloons or does something stranger, and the real game is learning which tower to use against which bloon.
The maps are varied, from simple winding paths to tricky designs where bloons arrive from several directions. Modes add variety as well. Easy mode forgives mistakes, while harder modes limit the towers you can use or remove your ability to sell them. The progression is generous, and you earn experience that unlocks new towers, upgrades and heroes, which are special characters with their own abilities.
Upgrades are where the strategy happens. Each tower has three upgrade paths, and you can usually go deep into only one or two of them. A dart monkey can become a rapid-fire machine or a long-range sniper, depending on your choices. Because bloons come in types that resist certain attacks, a defence that works for early rounds can fail suddenly when lead or camo bloons appear, and that moment of discovery is one of the game's pleasures.
For newcomers, a few ideas help. Place towers near corners and bends, where bloons stay in range longer. Spread your money across several towers early, then invest heavily in a few strong ones. Watch for camo bloons, which need towers that can detect them. If you lose a round, replay it and try a different upgrade path, because the learning comes from experiment.
Bloons TD 6 is a paid game, but once you buy it there are no ads. It also works offline for most modes, and a co-operative mode lets you play with friends online. It receives frequent updates with new content, so there is a lot to explore.
The art style is bright and friendly, which makes the game suitable for younger players as well as adults. There is no violence beyond popping balloons, and the difficulty ramps up gradually. Daily challenges and community-made content add replay value, so even after you finish the main maps there is plenty to try, including custom challenges created by other players.
If you like strategy games that reward planning and experimenting, this one offers excellent value.
